ART FUNDAMENTALS (Ages 7 - 18+)
At Artgrid Studios, each lesson is tailored to improve students' technical skill in drawing, painting, and 3-D to 2-D representation to foster a freedom of expression. Through the study of various art movements in art history, including Cubism, Impressionism, Expressionism, and Surrealism, students will learn from old masters and modern artists to form their own unique artistic style. Students will explore mediums such as acrylic, watercolour, charcoal, and pastels.
Intermediate students will learn new technical skills with new approaches, engaging subjects such as Portraiture, landscapes and still life will develop the understanding of different painting styles and techniques.
DRAW & PAINT PRE-SCHOOL (Ages 3-6)
Junior students will build a solid foundation through learning basic drawing and painting skills, colour theory as well as art material knowledge that will give students the freedom to ignite powerful creative ideas, which leads to the mastering of artistic expression and problem solving.
ANIMATION FOR TEENS (Ages 13 -18)
Students with a strong interest in character creation will learn fundamentals in drawing, the basic proportions of the human body, colour theory, and how to render 3D objects in a space. With an introduction to Adobe flash, students will start animating and complete a 45-60 second long animation.
PORTFOLIO PREPARATION / GRAPHIC DESIGN (Ages 13 - 18+)
Whether you are looking to get into a post-secondary design program or building a portfolio, it is important to show strong knowledge in elements and principles. Learn Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign through different projects. You will also learn the applications of Design Principles and Typography.
ARCHITECTURE FOR TEENS (Ages 13 - 18+)
Whether you are thinking of becoming an engineer or an architect, learn to think and create 3D structures and spaces. This is a foundation course in architectural drawing and drafting which includes such topics as architectural representation, perspective drawing, drafting techniques and an introduction to Autodesk Revit.
STORY CREATION PRE-SCHOOL (Ages 4-6)
Creativity and imagination are high level skills. A critical part of children's development comes from the opportunities they get to experiment with new ideas. This program develops children's creative thinking abilities as they learn important techniques to tap into their imagination. Students will design their own characters and create a story book using the resuable story book kit.
